Suburb Profile: Treeby/Banjup
29/11/16

With easy access to the Kwinana Freeway, Treeby and Banjup are less than 30min from the CBD. Located in the City of Cockburn, both suburbs are within easy reach of established amenities including Cockburn Gateways shopping centre, Cockburn train station and a number of schooling institutions.

Originally, Banjup spanned both north and south of Armadale Road. A couple of months ago it had the northern section taken away and renamed Treeby. The suburb was named after Joseph and Emma Treeby who settled in the area in the 1890s. The City of Cockburn will be in touch with residents to advise them of the suburb changes.

Couples with children account for 55% of the household types, followed by couples without children at 29%. This correlates to the prominent age group of 0-14 years.

Over the last twelve months, majority of the house sales were over $600,000.

As Treeby is now separate from Banjup, these figures will change for the next twelve months as Treeby will get an independent report.
