As seen in The West Australian New Homes lift out on Saturday, 10th September:
Internal space is a quality in high demand in the new home market and a feature of many homes, but Impressions the Home Builder’s Artisan display in Hammond Park takes the pursuit to another level.
The design of the single-storey home is so committed to spatial freedom that a whole room has been omitted to maximise the size of its remaining spaces.
“Rather than including an additional bedroom, this three-bed, two-bath plan focuses on providing extra-large bedrooms and a theatre,” Impressions General Manager Michael Bartier told New Homes.
“The home has a huge rear living space that opens onto the alfresco.“It also features a fantastic laundry and scullery setup conveniently accessed directly from the kitchen.”
The spatial commitment at Artisan is evident the moment you walk through the door, with a large home theatre coming off the entry passageway lit well by the home’s front windows, but still private courtesy of an outdoor feature wall which adds to the home’s streetfront character.
Artisan’s entry corridor serves to split the home into separate quarters – the master suite with walk-in robe and ensuite featuring his and her basins; and quarters containing the second and third bedrooms.
The size factor is evident through all rooms but comes into its own in the bedrooms two and three, each of which comfortably fit a double bed and feature built-in robes. Both are adorned by patterned feature walls and plenty of window space.
However, the home’s knockout blow is its open-plan living space to the rear, incorporating kitchen, dining and living areas and a number of clever features which help to keep clutter at bay.
Boasting a distinct breakfast bar which creates greater interaction with the dining and living areas without hogging too much of the room’s space, the kitchen is a real standout.
“The kitchen island benchtop features a laminated wine rack, wrap-around open shelving and an angled, raised breakfast bar overlooking the living and dining,” Mr Bartier said.
“Coupled with mosaic splashback tiling and premium 900mm Smeg appliances, this kitchen is both stylish and practical.”
The practicality extends to a scullery area featuring a double-bowl sink and shelving, which allows food preparation without the mess in guest-facing areas – perfect for entertaining.
The living and dining provide ample room to move and join to a stunning alfresco space at the home’s rear. Mr Bartier said the living area was a real standout for people who came to see the display.
“The kitchen, living and dining form the main hub of the home, perfect for entertaining family and friends,” he said.
“High ceilings and plenty of windows make this entire area feel light and spacious, with glass sliding doors to the alfresco seamlessly connecting it to the outdoors.”
The Artisan is located in the Vivente Estate, Hammon Park. Open Mondays and Wednesdays 2-5pm, Saturdays 1-5pm and Sundays 12-5pm.
